The business partner approach

What are the key elements of a business partner role? How does the role differ in Europe? How do you measure success?

These are just some of the questions posed to a panel of experts in our recent Question Time events in London and Manchester.

Hot on the heels of our recent research into the changing nature of accountants’ skills – The commercial challenge: Building accountants’ skills – we brought together finance professionals from Network Rail, Umbro, BAA Stansted, Thompson Reuters, CIMA and Bath School of Management to debate the key issues around adopting a business partner approach in finance.

Other thorny issues debated included where responsibility lies for upskilling accountants and how to get the balance between financial regulation and commercial input right.

For the answers to these questions and many more, download a copy of the event notes.
