Finance jobs seekers considering what type of position to apply for may be encouraged to hear that longer opening hours may not be on the agenda for their prospective employer.
According to an expert, this feature is not important in attracting new business to banks – it matters more whether their range of services are competitive and accessible, said Catherine Hearnden, director at MyMortgageDirect.
What lenders must make sure they do is provide “absolutely brilliant customer services”, she added. Those looking for finance jobs might want to keep that remark in mind during the application process.
“I don’t think that means opening longer hours; it just means that when you phone up there is someone who knows what they are talking about and is helpful and deals with it straightaway,” Ms Hearnden concluded.
Her comments follow the opening of Metro Bank today (July 29th), which is the first new high street bank in over a century.
