Recruitment agencies to help unconfident company execs?

Recruitment agencies could come to the rescue of company executives who have little confidence in their staff’s ability to manage the fallout of the recession.

According to research from Egon Zehnder International, a company which specialises in executive headhunting, just five per cent of executives believe their company has the internal resources to ride out the effects of the recession, reports Personnel Today.

The apparent widespread lack of confidence in the UK workforce could be resolved by companies hiring talented individuals they believe have the skills and experience that existing staff do not.

Andrew Roscoe, managing partner of Egon Zehnder International in London, said that the findings were indicative the business world was still in the process of re-evaluating market positions after the economic crisis.

He told the news provider: “The ongoing crisis appears to have quite severely shaken the confidence of many business leaders, who are questioning whether they have the internal skills and capabilities to adjust to a new world order.”
