Unlocking Britain's Potential –  A major event for senior decision makers ready to unlock the potential of their workforce.  21st February 2011

Who’s in demand – December 2009

Possibly the most encouraging sign of this recovering market is the increasing demand for resourcing managers and recruitment officers. The return of recruiters signals that many firms are gearing up to meet New Year staffing plans.

The availability of permanent heads of HR roles grows across all sectors as senior professionals return to lead change management activities.

With change an essential driver for success in the upturn HR change consultants are in demand. Recruiters are looking for commercial ‘all rounders’ to deliver integrated programmes with long term impact.

The recent media frenzy surrounding big city bonuses has brought the subject of reward into the limelight. To support employee engagement activities, the availability of heads of reward and reward analyst roles are increasing.

Learning and development managers are featuring in recruitment programmes as firms look towards training as a more cost effective way to maximise in house talent.

Hot on the heels of the financial sector to lead the recovery, telecoms giants are undergoing a recruitment programme for HR business partners and ER specialists to improve the HR interface with the wider organisation.

But the overlying trend across HR recruitment is a demand for ‘generalists’ such as HR consultants. Specialists that can influence employee relations, development and reward are set to take the top positions.
