Plans to make it easier for people to relocate in order to find work, including those looking for HR jobs, have been welcomed by a not-for profit organisation.
Work Wise UK, which aims to make Britain one of the most progressive economies in the world by encouraging the widespread adoption of smarter working practices, said that the idea is a good one.
The organisation suggests that the proposal, which was revealed by Iain Duncan Smith in an interview with the Sunday Telegraph recently, could serve to benefit jobseekers’ self-esteem.
Phil Flaxton, chief executive of Work Wise UK, said that while it was a "very sound move", people should not believe that moving house would guarantee them a new job.
He said: "I think it could well be difficult to implement because of the fact that if someone is going to move or relocate to an area where there are jobs, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee that they are going to get a job."
It is hoped the scheme would distribute unemployment more evenly across the country.
