People could consider a change of career, perhaps into legal jobs, if they are concerned about the long-term security of their sector.
That is according to the Recruitment Society, which states that individuals who have reservations about whether current job can keep them safe financially could think about moving to a more buoyant industry.
Steve Huxham, chairman of the Recruitment Society, insists that people should not hastily opt for a move as there is no job that is entirely safe from the recession.
He said: “As long as you are aware of the risks – as in, there is no discipline which is bullet-proof – and you are thinking about a career change then yes, it is something you could seriously look at.”
Mr Huxham goes on to say that in order to kick-start economy, the government should reduce the tax burden on businesses, insisting that this “will always help in the long-term”.
According to the Office for National Statistics, the employment rate for the three months to May 2010 was 72.3 per cent, up 0.3 on the quarter.
