
In-house legal jobs can be extremely satisfying and fulfilling – and for some women, a much more tempting prospect than being a full-time mum.
This is according to a new report published by Vivia Chen for Legal Week, which suggested that while some in legal jobs may face a challenging work-life balance, for others the decision to return to the office is an easy one to make.
“They are not necessarily in love with their jobs or super-ambitious; they just prefer working to ferrying their kids to dance lessons,” she opined.
However, flexible working could be something to consider for those who do want to keep their job and family in sync during the early days of parenthood.
The Work Foundation recently recommended employers do more to promote the benefits of a flexible schedule, after it was found by a PricewaterhouseCoopers study to be considered a better perk than monetary bonuses.
