UK-based businesses, including those with communications jobs, could save money by allow employees to work flexibly.
That is according to Orange, which suggests that allowing staff to work from home could help reduce office overheads.
Furthermore, placing trust in employees to work from home away from the watchful eyes of senior staff can help boost self-esteem and workplace contentment.
Max Taylor, director of corporate marketing at the telecoms firm, said: “Allowing employees to work flexibly actually presents a significant opportunity for businesses to save money and improve employee morale.”
He went on to say that setting staff up with the tools to work from home need not be expensive, suggesting that businesses simply needed to show a little “willingness”.
Mr Taylor made his comments after a survey by the company revealed that 53 per cent of people expect flexible working in a new job, while 69 per cent believe it is important to have the opportunity to do so.
