People in marketing jobs plan work around lifestyle

Many people in the UK, including those in marketing jobs, plan their work around their life, rather than the other way round.

That is according to Citrix Online, the US-based firm, which suggests that the traditional nine-to-five is becoming increasingly rare.

With people now able to work from home, there is greater scope for employees to simply get their work done as and when it best suits, instead of having to head into work for the mandatory hours.

Andrew Millard, director marketing, eCommerce EMEA, Citrix Online, said that technology was now advanced enough for people to simply “collaborate online” in order to be productive.

He said: “We see some trends that businesses now are no longer nine-five, it’s more about the task and you have to deliver.

“Rather than having to clock in or clock out or be at your desk, you have a series of tasks that you need to complete and it almost doesn’t matter where you are.”
