Communications jobs, along with other sectors, will contribute to the recovery of the jobs market, albeit slowly.
Work Wise UK, a not-for-profit initiative, which encourages the widespread adoption of smarter working practices, suggests that the employment situation will improve over the coming years, though it will be a gradual process.
Work Wise chief executive Phil Flaxton said that while the recent Budget may have stung certain areas of society, cutting the deficit is essential if unemployment is to be tackled.
He said: “If we were to just carry on as we were in terms of borrowing, then apart from that being a very reckless strategy by any elected government, that would definitely fuel high unemployment because it wouldn’t be sustainable.”
Mr Flaxton made his comments after research from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development revealed that economic growth over the next five years only had to be slightly weaker than forecasts to affect the jobs market.
