Sainsbury’s seasonal recruitment could include project management jobs

Supermarket chain Sainbury's has announced that it will be recruiting 14,000 people over coming months, in roles that could include project management jobs.

The retailer is preparing itself for a busy Christmas period as customer demand picks up by employing new staff to increase deliveries, restocking and till speeds.

Helen Webb, Sainsbury's retail HR director, said that the supermarket is "proud" to provide opportunities during a difficult economic period and appealed for enthusiastic people to come forward.

"Retail is a fast-paced, dynamic industry all year round but there really is no more exciting time to be in store than Christmas. We are looking for enthusiastic, hard working colleagues who have a passion for great customer service," she said.

Sainsbury's is continuing to expand after putting forward plans last week to build a new superstore in Medway, which could create 500 job positions.

The company already has 880 stores in the UK and employs 150,000 staff members.
