The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has been granted an extension to the Jobsearch scheme it is running for high end jobseekers.
This extension, approved by the government, could be good news for those looking at skilled positions and public sector jobs.
With further cuts predicted to the public sector, Tom Hadley, director of external relations at REC, said that the need for such a scheme "has never been more crucial".
"This is an endorsement of both the credence and success of the scheme in giving high end jobseekers the best support and advice possible from our participating members to help them get back into work," he said.
To date, tens of thousands of executive level jobseekers have been placed in employment since the scheme was launched by REC and the Department for Work and Pensions last March.
Mr Hadley added that the confederation will continue to work with government ministers and departments through the programme to ensure it can help as many people made redundant from high end jobs into work as possible.
